Antique Georgian Silhouette Miniature Portrait Locket by John Miers. Opaline Glass and Hairwork Back Circa 1800
A George III gold mounted silhouette miniature by John Miers, the reverse being opaline glass with plumed hair work with seed pearl embellishment. Set in a 9ct gold mount with pendant loop and housed in its original red morocco case lined with cream silk. The remnants of the artists engraved label mounted on one side, which would have once read in full: 'Opposite Exeter Change. Miers, Profile Painter and Jeweller No.III Strand, Miniatures Set and Framed Hair-work &c. executed peculiarly Neat. London'

CONDITION: Wear to the portrait with a crack along the top half anf cracks to the glass, some discolouration around the edges. Please see pictures for reference.
