Exquisite Antique Enamel Brooch, Victorian, Pansy and Forget-Me-Not Flowers. High ct Gold.

£755.00

Conversion of brooch into pendant with extra dangle pendant.

A truly epic piece of Victorian craftsmanship. At the centre of this beautiful brooch is a spray of pansies and Forget-me-not flowers, bordered with black enamel work on a round chased frame. Truly the best enamelling I've ever seen. The detail of the piece is superb.

Flowers in the Victorian era had their own language, pansies symbolised thoughts of love, and were often given to secret lovers. The name "pansy" comes from the French word pensée, which means "thought". While forget-me-nots symbolised true love, devotion, and remembrance.

A wonderfully romantic brooch perfect for any antique jewellery lover.
